The Idea

I wanted a note-taking app that worked the way I think. Something that:

Syncs between my phone and my computer
Doesn’t break when I’m offline in the subway
Has just enough AI to help me reword or expand a thought, without trying to write a novel for me

And while I was at it, I figured—why not make it handle my todos too?

What It Does

Offline-first

Take notes or update tasks anywhere—even underground. Knoat is a PWA that stores changes in IndexedDB and syncs when you're back online. You don’t need to think about it; it just works.

Cross-device sync

Write on your phone, pick it up on your laptop. Seamless sync keeps everything up to date across devices, without ceremony.

AI, but useful

Highlight a sentence, hit "Improve", "Shorten", or "Add more". That’s it. The AI helps without hijacking your workflow.

Everything’s drag-and-droppable. Want to turn a bullet point into a task? Just pull it over. Want to reorder or group things? Go for it. The note editor is built on Lexical, so it's fast, lightweight, and flexible.
